Who is Jeanne Rowzee?
Born and raised in Burtonsville, Maryland, Jeanne Rowzee from an early age found her passion for animals. Throughout her personal and professional life, Jeanne has worked to be an advocate for those who struggle themselves. At first, she believed her calling as an advocate was through law. As a lawyer, Jeanne practiced for many years before finding her true calling in animal advocacy. In the year 2001, she founded Homeward Bound Animal & Rescue Inc. Starting any business from scratch comes with its fair share of hurdles. Jeanne Rowzee has used her skills and characteristics from her job in law, to help her navigate this transition.
In order to create one’s own non-profit organization, Jeanne realized the importance of searching for experienced opinions. Therefore, by having a collection of advice and a specific direction, she was able to construct it properly from the beginning. Throughout the process, this allowed Jeanne to build the rescue center to the magnitude it has grown to today.
“I know you can’t live on hope alone; but without hope, life is not worth living. So you, and you and you: you got to give them hope.”
Jeanne has grown up with a love and passion for animals. Throughout her childhood years, as well as adult years, she has always made animals an inclusive of her lifestyle. Not only did her love for animals carry with her through life, but also within her children and grandchildren’s lives as well. Since starting the non-profit rescue center, she consistently has had the support of her close family members.
She hopes that the legacy she has created continues to carry itself further. It was through her hard work and dedication, which has led her to achieve this great success. With the help of her family and those who have always found a calling in becoming an advocate for animals, Jeanne wishes to inspire them by showing what she was able to accomplish.
